Learning by doing
HTML/CSS
Creating my website was an essential project for me, and I'm delighted to present it to you today.
Redoing my website was a necessity, because my old one didn't suit me. I felt that I hadn't really created anything of my own, having used Bootstrap for its ease and speed of implementation. However, now that I had the time I needed, I decided to design a site that fully corresponded to me, by developing it entirely on my own.
Reconciling my studies, academic projects, homework and personal initiatives while developing this site was a real challenge. What's more, I had to relearn HTML and CSS, as I hadn't used them for three years. I also had to learn JavaScript to integrate specific animations, in particular the movement of the Polaroids, which was particularly important to me. Another major challenge was to make the site responsive, so that it would be accessible and ergonomic on all types of device.
To successfully complete this project, I set up a structured timetable to optimise my organisation. I followed numerous online tutorials and participated in discussions on specialised forums to deepen my knowledge. I learnt JavaScript thanks to my courses abroad and via online videos. However, responsive design is still an area that needs fine-tuning. My aim is to finalise all the main features before devoting myself fully to this final stage.
This site is entirely my own, both visually and technically. All I have to do now is finalise the responsive adaptation and, in the future, develop my own animations to enhance the user experience on all the pages.
